Green Pages is published by a partnership of Bubble Consultancy Bristol Ltd (Bristol & Bath edition) and Lumpy Lemon Ltd (Oxfordshire edition).
bubble consultancy is Bristol-based and specialises in working with small- to medium-sized organisations in the voluntary, community and statutory sectors. Company directors are Karen Bradford and Mark Hubbard, each bringing different skills, backgrounds and expertise to the partnership.
bubble consultancy provides services in project management, research, strategic/business planning and community involvement. Activities that are essential to successful, strategic working but often difficult to resource by over-worked staff and busy volunteers.

Biography: Karen Bradford
Karen has spent the past 12 years working in the voluntary sector, 10 concentrating on the successful development of a service from pilot to national network and towards the creation of a new UK charity, FareShare.
Karen’s main skills are feasibility and evaluation, project management and strategic development. Highly motivated with excellent communication skills, Karen is an initiator dedicated to ensuring high quality standards within the voluntary sector. Karen has experience of working with high profile national and regional organisations as well as local based voluntary and community agencies. In particular successfully managing local/national partnerships and liasing with a range of stakeholders across voluntary, statutory and corporate sectors.
- Team Management and development – building effective and motivated teams, creating and managing volunteer programmes including corporate secondments
- Strategic Development and planning including:
- feasibility research, defining the need and viability
- pilot and evaluation programmes
- business planning and managing delivery against targets
- funding strategies, establishing high profile corporate partnerships
- research – identifying the need, commissioning and managing delivery
- Quality and Sustainability: expertise in project development, defining and delivering standards at both service and organisational level with particular knowledge of social franchising
- Communication: skilled in producing a variety of quality written communications including community research reports, business plans and organisational reviews, service manuals, policy documents. Also adept at liaising with a wide range of stakeholders from corporate partners to community organisations and members.

Biography: Mark Hubbard
Mark has worked in the voluntary and statutory sectors for over a decade, mostly in London but latterly based in Bristol, and has a wide range of experience. In the voluntary sector he has worked for small, local community groups as well as regional and national charities in varying roles, mostly under the headings of marketing and fundraising in the medical and environmental sectors. Mark has a particular interest in working with small and developing community groups.
Mark’s main skills are in marketing, fundraising and management. He is highly motivated and innovative, bringing creativity and imagination to problem solving in the voluntary sector. Mark’s skills include:
- Marketing: Publishing: websites, magazines, leaflets, e-communications; Event and stage management; Strategy development and implementation; Media relations; Market research and segmentation; Database development and interrogation; User feedback/evaluation; Service delivery and customer/member relations
- Fundraising: Strategy development and implementation; Statutory: EU and UK, service level agreements/contracts; Trusts and foundations: research, application, relationship management, reporting; Donors/members: research, communication strategies, relationship management; Corporate and sponsorship: research, approach, development
